Communications staff outlined a new facilities partnership program to seek naming-rights and other donations for district assets, including fields, locker rooms and performance spaces. The district has formed a committee, issued a press release and is developing a centralized web page for donations and donor recognition.
"This program... we're starting this year and we're actually very excited," the presenter said, describing tiers and examples from other districts. Board members asked how smaller donors would be included and whether naming rights could be used to support essential capital needs such as roofs; staff clarified naming-rights are intended for supplemental projects while maintenance and safety work will be funded through capital funds or referendum when required.
Staff said they would work with the foundation and other community partners to identify fundraising opportunities and also plan to provide donors with guidance about tax-deductibility and donation routing on the website. The Committee received the update and acknowledged further committee work to refine tiers and donor flows before launching a public campaign.
