Parents urge Union Grove ISD board to tighten bullying response and reporting

At the Union Grove ISD Board of Trustees meeting on June 12, parent Wes Pullen described a bullying incident involving his son and asked the board to require consequences for late reporting to parents. "He would like to see consequences for the late reporting of the matter to parents," Pullen said during public comment.
Community member Kourtney Long told trustees she was speaking "as a voice for the community regarding bullying" and urged the board and administration to re-address policies and procedures. Long said she wants the district to examine inconsistencies in how staff handle reports and to implement new measures so all staff respond the same way. The board did not record a formal response on the record at the meeting.
