Union Grove ISD board rescinds prior approval, awards $175,000 fencing contract for JH/HS campus

The Union Grove Independent School District Board of Trustees on March 24 rescinded a prior Feb. 10 fencing approval and voted to award a new fencing contract to F & A Fencing for $175,000 to install a commercial-grade 3-rail ornamental fence with brick columns at the junior high/high school campus.
The motion to rescind the February 10 approval was made by Justin Smith and seconded by Brian Cox and passed unanimously. The subsequent motion to award the contract to F & A Fencing was made by Tim Turner and seconded by Brian Cox and also passed unanimously. The board’s action replaces the earlier Harris Fence Company approval that the board rescinded.
Board members did not finalize district-wide security system purchases at the same meeting; a separate motion to approve security systems was tabled, leaving further decisions on security hardware and installation to a future meeting. The fence contract and the tabling of security-system decisions were recorded by the board following its closed-session deliberations.
