Anna Porter, the County Appraiser, told the commissioners she is about "90% done with reinspection's for the year" and is working on splits and combos for 2025. County Clerk Myka Zadina said her office has been preparing township budgets and has forwarded information to the county auditor for the 2026 county budget.
Commissioner Ervin Underwood announced a grant-writing workshop on August 5 organized by the Jewell County Foundation and Jewell County Community Development and encouraged anyone interested in applying for grants to attend. These items were part of routine department updates during the office-head meeting portion of the agenda.
