Commissioners review road damage, discuss ditching to relieve ambulance-office flooding

County road and drainage issues took up part of the June 30 meeting as commissioners and road staff described damage from recent rains and options for remediation. Joel Elkins, noted in the minutes as General Superintendent, said crews are fixing road damage and will inspect the site where water ran over the road during the recent storm. "They are fixing road damage and will be going to check to see where the water went over the road from this current rain today," the record states.
Ambulance Director Vincent Urbaniak told commissioners his office suffered flooding and requested Joel Elkins have the road department dig a ditch to funnel water on the east side of the building. Commissioners directed staff to inspect the site; no formal appropriation or construction contract was approved during the meeting.
