The Sullivan County Veterans Festival and Stand Down is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Loch Sheldrake Fireman's Park, organizers told the Veterans Committee. Howie, the event presenter, said the festival is intended for veterans and will offer on-site services and entertainment.
"We have 18 vendors at the present time," Howie said, noting two additional potential vendors and live music from Derek Stoner and Jesse Norin. Committee members and AMVETS Post 50 volunteers said VA professionals will attend through Castle Pointe to discuss available services and programs. Steve, commander of AMVETS Post 50, invited Howie to present vendor and logistics details to the committee.
Organizers emphasized accessibility and safety at the pavilion and invited veterans to stop by for lunch and to meet providers. The committee encouraged turnout to connect veterans with services being promoted at the event.
