At the March 10 work session, Councilman Uyehara presented a finalized version of a proposed social media policy and sought council input on implementation. After consulting with Borough Solicitor Wright, council members were told the policy could remain a borough policy and "did not require adoption of an Ordinance." Council members discussed requiring a yearly signed agreement from departments and committees that maintain social media and agreed the policy should be linked on the borough website for easy access.
No ordinance vote was taken at the work session. Council asked staff to refine the implementation steps, including the annual sign-off process and website posting, and to return with a recommended administrative workflow for final review at a future meeting.
