DocuVault sale leaves Pitman facing new cost for community shred events

Administrator Sandra McCafferty informed the council that the Borough's document shredding vendor, DocuVault, has been bought by another company and that County reimbursement for shred events is no longer available. She said the next community shred event is already advertised for April 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., so the expense for that event will come from the borough budget unless the Council decides otherwise.
McCafferty asked council members to consider options for future shred events, including reducing the number of events to one per year or eliminating them. There was no objection expressed at the work session to scheduling the April event, but council members were asked to consider budgetary impact going forward.
"As of right now, the County will no longer be reimbursing the Borough for any shred events," McCafferty said.
