Ridgefield Park recreation board accepts minutes and financial report, flags alleged fraudulent charges

The Board of Recreation in Ridgefield Park approved the minutes of its April 16, 2026 meeting and accepted the April financial report during its May 21, 2026 meeting.
According to the financial report, the board began April with a balance of $14,156.32, recorded archery registrations of $400 and $36.59 in interest, and paid several expenses including a $1,407.65 reimbursement to President Diane Maglione. The bank denied two debit charges from Ad Mfg., totaling $1,743.25, because they were more than 60 days old; the record notes an asserted total of $3,486.50 in allegedly fraudulent charges from Ad-Trophy/Ad Mfg.
The board asked the village attorney to send a letter to Andrew Karmitz of Ad Mfg. and said it will contact consumer advocate resources (7 On Your Side) to explore recovery options. "All were in favor of the motion" to accept the financial report after the discussion, and the motion passed unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Royce Morris, seconded by Commissioner Matt Florio.
Board members also reviewed routine deposits and debit-card expenses, and trustees reiterated the requirement that all program checks and cash be funneled through the Board of Recreation for accounting. No further formal action on the alleged fraud was recorded other than the attorney outreach and plans to contact outside assistance.
