Camp Verde council agrees to pursue independent Equestrian Center Commission after public backing

Town Manager Miranda Fisher presented three options to guide the future of the Equestrian Center: a Town Manager working group, an independent Equestrian Center Commission, or a Parks & Recreation Commission subcommittee. Residents and stakeholders—including Cherie Wischmeyer, Dee Jenkins, Tanner Bryson, Charlotte Salsman, Jason Jenkins, Cole Martinez and Amber Teague—spoke in favor of an independent commission.
Mayor Marie Moore read a letter from the Camp Verde Arena Association proposing to return the Association's equipment to the Town for use at the Equestrian Center in exchange for certain operational rights. Town Manager Fisher and Town Attorney Trish Stuhan answered Council questions about options and the CVAA proposal. Following discussion, Council reached consensus to pursue an independent Equestrian Center Commission and directed staff to schedule a dedicated work session to review the CVAA proposal and commission structure.
