Camp Verde adopts new water-supply and conservation code (Ordinance 2026-A515)
Summary
The Council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 2026-A515, adding Articles 17-6 through 17-20 to the Town Code to address adequate water supply requirements, water conservation, infrastructure, metering and master planning after review and recommendations from the Rural Water Management Working Group and Planning & Zoning Commission.

Town Manager Miranda Fisher presented Ordinance 2026-A515, explaining the Rural Water Management Town Manager Working Group developed the proposed code and that the Planning & Zoning Commission had unanimously recommended approval with several amendments. Fisher said the Working Group reviewed the P&Z amendments and the version before Council reflected the Working Group's final recommendation.
During the public hearing Mary Chicoine thanked the Rural Water Management Working Group for considering comments submitted by the Verde Valley Community Development Organization and for incorporating revisions to hydrological-report requirements for high-demand water users. After Council questions and expressions of appreciation for the Working Group, the Council approved Ordinance 2026-A515 by a 7-0 vote.
