Valley View ISD approves multiple student trips to UIL and state competitions

The Valley View ISD Board of Trustees approved a slate of student trips at the Feb. 25 meeting, covering both retroactive approvals and upcoming events.
Items approved included: Boys & Girls Wrestling retroactive approval for UIL Region 4-5A (Corpus Christi, Feb. 6–8, 2025) and Girls Wrestling State Championship (Cypress, Feb. 14–15, 2025); Varsity Mariachi at the Mariachi State Festival (Seguin, Feb. 20, 2025); VVHS UIL State Film Contest (Austin, Feb. 26, 2025); VVHS and VVJH Color Guard TECA State Championship and end-of-year trip to Six Flags (April 12–13, 2025); Valley View DECA State Career Development Conference (Dallas, March 6–8, 2025); and VVECC and VVHS FCCLA State Leadership Conference (Dallas, April 11–13, 2025). Presenters included Genaro Cantu (Interim Athletic Director), Manuel Rodriguez (Fine Arts Director) and Gustavo Guzman (CTE/STEM/P-TECH Coordinator). Claudia Coronado moved to approve the trips and Jaime Gaona seconded; motions carried unanimously.
The approvals included retroactive ratification for events already held and authorization for future travel; no trip costs or funding sources were enumerated in the minutes.
