Stronghurst water superintendent warns spray park likely closed this summer; hauling would start if use exceeds 75,000 gallons

At the April 7 meeting, Water Superintendent Ronnie told the Village of Stronghurst Board the system is currently handling about 68,000 gallons per day but faces risk as drier weather arrives.
"If the usage goes above 75,000, the village will have to haul water daily to supply until the new well is drilled and working," Ronnie said, and he warned that under current conditions "the spray park will not be able to run this summer" and that flower plantings in the park are unlikely without a change in demand.
Ronnie said the village has discussed contingency measures with the fair board, including supplying additional portable toilets rather than opening fair bathrooms and bringing in a water tanker for a scheduled family reunion. The board did not vote on additional water measures at the meeting; trustees were informed of the usage numbers and contingency needs.
