David (S6), introduced by another speaker, described a proposed public dashboard as a "30,000-foot view" showing year-to-year percent change and suggested an illustrative 5% growth example for I-Ready and related assessments.
Board members pushed back on a single, uniform target. "An I Ready score is an I Ready score and then an M-STEP score is an M-STEP score," James (S2) said, arguing the assessments operate on different timelines and constructs and therefore may need separate targets or ranges rather than one composite percent. Several members suggested a goal-range (for example, 3–5% or 5–7%) and described the plan as a "living document" that can be revised based on trend data and future work-session analysis.
The board did not take a formal vote on adoption tonight; staff said they will revise sections 1a and 1b of the draft and circulate updated documents and that additional work sessions will be scheduled to drill into KPI calculations and building-level data.
