Van Alstyne ISD board approves up to $120,000 in IMAT funds for curriculum materials

The Van Alstyne ISD Board approved IMAT funds not to exceed $120,000 at its May 12 meeting to cover a range of curriculum materials. The approved purchases include K–8 student and teacher math materials and manipulatives; one kindergarten ARC classroom setup; an XL RLA for high school math support and the Math Medic program for precalculus and other high‑school math; K–5 handwriting materials; Summit K12 resources for ESL; and Studies Weekly materials.
The motion to approve IMAT expenditures was made by Beau Williams, seconded by Matt Morris, and passed unanimously 7–0. Superintendent Dr. David Brown presented the recommendation for the expenditures and explained the materials are necessary to align classroom resources with curriculum needs.
