The Planning & Development Committee voted Aug. 3 to recommend approval of CZ‑2026‑032, a rezoning request for a 0.85‑acre property at 15 Renfrew Avenue in Travelers Rest to change from C‑1 (commercial) to I‑1 (industrial) for warehousing and distribution.
Staff told the committee the requested I‑1 district aligns with nearby zoning and would not adversely affect surrounding properties; the Planning Commission recommended approval with revisions. "Staff is of the opinion that successful rezoning to the I‑1 Industrial District would be consistent with similar zoning in the area and would not have an adverse impact on the surrounding properties," the presenter said. The committee approved the recommendation by voice vote and will forward the rezoning as its recommendation to full County Council.
