Pitman selects Judith Heumann titles for Town‑Wide Read; kickoff slated for April

Councilman Uyehara reported that the DEI Committee’s Town‑Wide Read selections are in and named the titles for adults (Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist), youth (Rolling Warrior) and children (Fighting for YES!). He said the books will be available at McCowan Memorial Library, via the library’s 'Book Club in a Bag' program, and through the schools for youth and children copies; a kickoff event is expected in April and monthly events will follow through the fall.
Uyehara also said there is an open seat on the DEI Committee and invited interested residents to apply.
