Board discusses upcoming retirements and succession planning in executive session

Mayor Brendan Schaley informed the board that village employee Matt Hicks will be retiring soon and asked whether the board preferred keeping him part time or recruiting a full-time employee to begin training for Ronnie Gittings' position as Gittings prepares to retire within the next couple of years.
The minutes record that the board will further discuss succession and staffing at the next meeting; no personnel votes, hires or employment terms were recorded in the public minutes. Trustees returned to regular session at 6:51 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
