The Monroe Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved naming Arborwood North "Hollywood Elementary" on Sept. 23. Board members cited overwhelming community input favoring "Hollywood" in the survey and noted the building serves kindergarten through fourth grade; the superintendent asked that the word "Elementary" be added to the public name to reflect that configuration.
During discussion a board member said the public comments and survey entries were largely "straight up Hollywood," and the motion to adopt "Hollywood Elementary" received unanimous support on the roll call. The superintendent and administrative staff will proceed with updating district materials and signage to reflect the chosen name.
