Veribest ISD board approves staff contracts, handbooks and 2025–26 calendar

The board recorded unanimous 4–0 votes to approve probationary contracts for Abby Taylor and Casey Alexander and to move Eddie Beene to a 12‑month term contract. Mark Schwartz moved the personnel motion and Dalena Freeman seconded. The board also approved the district’s Student Handbook and Code of Conduct, the Employee Handbook based on the TASB model, and the 2025–2026 board calendar during the meeting.
Board members said the governance documents were presented as recommended by administration and legal counsel. The employee handbook adoption explicitly used the TASB model language presented at the meeting. Each motion on the package of handbooks and the calendar was recorded as passing 4–0.
Superintendent Amanda Traylor and Principal Amber Palmer were listed as staff present for the meeting and will be responsible for implementing and distributing the approved handbooks and calendar to staff and families ahead of the August start of school.
