Board approves personnel items and signs off on authorizations allowing district signatories and emergency teaching permits
Summary
Trustees approved personnel reports, adopted multiple signature-authority resolutions (authorizing Jeff Crane and others to sign on the board's behalf) and approved a declaration of need allowing emergency and limited assignment teacher hires, all passed unanimously.
The board approved a slate of personnel and authorization items, including new offers, assignment changes and extra duties presented in the RPAR (personnel) report.
Trustees also voted to adopt multiple resolutions authorizing district staff to sign official documents on the board's behalf. The packet included a motion "authorizing Jeff Crane to sign on behalf of governing board" (item 9C) and subsequent actions authorizing Tanya Michelle, Zoey Briscoe and Janelle Woodruff in other items; motions were moved and seconded and passed on unanimous votes.
District staff explained the "declaration of need for fully qualified educators" allows the district to hire emergency-permit and limited-assignment teachers if necessary, and staff framed the declaration as a procedural safeguard to ensure the district can staff classrooms pending credentialing approvals.
