Speakers described a collection program called Sun Lumble that gathers donated shoes that would otherwise go to landfills, refurbishes or reallocates them for student athletes, and packages them with clothing and health materials into "sun bundles" distributed to communities.
"So here at Sun Lumble, we take shoes from individual organizations... We're giving a 2nd chance and upcycle to student athletes who may not have had this opportunity," one speaker said. Another speaker added that the organization combines shoes with upcycled clothing and health-related materials to create care packages for community distribution. The presenters framed the work as waste reduction and youth-sports support rather than a request for municipal funding.
