Greenbelt Advisory Commission reviews updated fund balance, project closings

Commission staff presented the commission's updated open-session budget and project status at the Aug. 6 meeting. Staff noted that several properties remain in active closing stages: Saint John's and Inness are "creeping along," Hicks is nearing final federal review, Cherry Hill is expected to close by the end of September, and recently approved items (TMO, Hayden, Kempf, Root) had been approved by city council.
On the fund balance, staff said the Greenbelt Advisory Commission fund balance less commitments had been "5 point something" at the prior report but is now "down to 4.8 on that last number there." Staff cautioned that many projected closings and match numbers remain estimates. The commission did not take any formal budget actions during the open session; staff said some details are held for closed session because they relate to specific property transactions.
Commissioners thanked staff for the update and offered no substantive amendments during the open session.
