Resident requests village help with senior center roof; board defers decision to February
Summary
Donna Powless asked the Stronghurst board for a donation to replace the Senior Citizen's building roof, estimating a rubber roof at $21,000–$36,000; the board decided to discuss and vote on any donation and amount at its February meeting and advised Powless to file a claim with her insurance first.

Donna Powless attended the Jan. 6 Stronghurst board meeting to request a village donation to help replace the Senior Citizen's building roof.
Powless told the board a rubber roof would be "anywhere from $21,000 to $36,000." The board did not decide on a donation amount at the meeting; instead, members said they would discuss the request further and vote on whether to provide funds at the February meeting. Trustee Amanda VanArsdale advised Powless to submit the damages to her insurance company first to learn whether insurance assistance would be available.
No motion or amount was recorded in the minutes; the request was entered for further consideration at the next regular meeting.
