The Waco ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution on June 18 identifying hazardous walking routes for the 2026–2027 school year, a step that can make certain students eligible for supplemental state transportation funding under Texas Education Code 42.155(d).
Acting Transportation Director Monique Brock presented the hazardous route findings and recommended the resolution. Board President Angelo Ochoa moved to approve the resolution and the board voted unanimously (6-0). The resolution directs staff to submit required documentation to the state to request supplemental funding for students who live within two miles of campus but face hazardous walking conditions.
