Commission schedules Sept. 14 tentative budget hearing, Sept. 21 final hearing

During the budget workshop the manager confirmed the commission will hold a tentative budget hearing and millage vote on Sept. 14 and a final hearing on Sept. 21.
The town manager reviewed the budget calendar and set the next steps in the adoption process. "Our next important date is September 14, which will be when we have our 1st public hearing, and it'll be our tentative budget... And then the final, would be September 21, and that will be the 2nd hearing, and that will be the final file," she said.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions and the manager said she will bring a fuller packet in September with the additional backup and the benchmarking information requested during the workshop. No formal votes were taken at the Aug. 3 workshop; the dates set the public-notice schedule for adoption.
