The town manager presented a proposed $21,000,000 budget for fiscal year 2027 and recommended keeping the millage rate at 5.4, the same level as the prior year. "So we're at about 21,000,000 for the full budget, which is 9.5 percent over the previous year with our proposed millage rate of 5.4," she said, and described ad valorem taxes as the primary revenue source, noting approximately $11,000,000 in anticipated ad valorem receipts for the year.
The manager described major spending drivers as capital infrastructure, drainage, and public safety. She contrasted the proposed 5.4 rate with the rollback rate of 5.0881 (a 6.1% gap) and said Ocean Ridge's rate is mid-range compared with neighboring jurisdictions. Commissioners were scheduled to consider a tentative budget and vote on the millage rate at a public hearing on Sept. 14, with a final hearing set for Sept. 21.
