UN: aid into Gaza rose in July but restrictions on critical supplies impede services

The UN spokesperson said data collected through the UN 2720 mechanism show a 33% increase in the volume of supplies brought into Gaza in July compared with June — more than 55,000 pallets, roughly 35,000 metric tons or about 26,000 truckloads — moving closer to pre‑escalation levels. The briefing noted roughly 60% of those supplies were food, with smaller volumes of shelter, water, sanitation and health items.
Humanitarian partners warned that restrictions remain on certain supplies vital to operations inside Gaza, including engine oil and spare parts for vehicles and backup generators, and on durable shelter materials; those restrictions, combined with limited quantities of quality lubricant, risk reducing or halting critical services at hospitals, pumping stations and bakeries. The UN also cited a UNISAT satellite assessment that estimated damaged structures have increased by 9% since the October 2025 ceasefire and that about 82% of Gaza’s structures are damaged, with approximately two‑thirds of those assessed destroyed.
