Mohammed’s call underscored the scale of the education crisis and the disproportionate impact on displaced children, including those seeking refuge outside Sudan. The briefing said UN and partner efforts have brought more than 1,000,000 Sudanese children back into some form of learning this year but that these efforts “are simply not enough.” The UN spokesperson said humanitarian and protective measures are needed alongside a halt to hostilities to allow schooling to resume safely.
