On Aug. 4 the Weathersfield Selectboard approved an Errors & Omissions certificate dated July 30, 2026 pertaining to Green Mountain Power, allowing assessors to correct an assessment mistake and enabling the company to pay taxes once the certificate is accepted.
During Any Other Business, Town Manager Brandon Gulnick explained that "errors and omissions occur every year and are normal," and that the process permits listers and assessors to fix obvious mistakes. He noted the specific error in this instance was in the town's favor and that Green Mountain Power could not pay its taxes until the certificate was approved. The board moved to accept the Errors & Omissions certificate; the motion was made by Patience Bearse, seconded by Joseph Bublat, and passed unanimously.
The acceptance clears the assessment issue and allows the tax payment process for the utility parcel to move forward.
