Town clerk to inventory retention requirements; Road Commissioner insists on preserving all road files

The Selectboard tasked Town Clerk Vickie Buswell with researching statutory records-retention requirements and producing an accurate list of what must be preserved versus what may be destroyed. Buswell told the board she will report her findings at an upcoming meeting and coordinate with the Selectboard on secure preservation and shredding of documents.

Road Commissioner Robin (identified in the minutes as Robin Gutierrez) made a specific and binding request that ALL road files be preserved regardless of age, and proposed creating a newly organized archive for road documents; she stated that the usefulness of those files should be determined by the Road Commissioner. The board agreed to include road files in the preservation plan.
