The Isle La Motte Selectboard on April 2 approved the final wording for a bronze plaque at Burying Yard Point and voted to finalize an ILM 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution resolution.
Chair Peter Brzozowy read the plaque wording during the meeting; the Historical Society limited the text to 728 characters after several meetings and iterations, under the state maximum of 765 characters. The board moved to accept the wording and to sign the resolution; both motions carried by voice vote with members responding “all in favor, yes.” The plaque text will now be submitted to the state for approval and then cast in bronze.
No dates for installation or fundraising were set during the meeting; the board indicated the state’s approval process is the next step before production.
