Council approves multiple water and sewer contracts and authorizes RFP for pump-station upgrade; Alderman cites federal grant

At the March 3 meeting the council approved multiple water and sewer items, including payments to Airy's Inc. for a 12" cross replacement and valve installation ($21,045.65), emergency bypass work ($5,203.57), and a fire hydrant replacement ($5,711.24). The council approved purchase of three fire hydrants from EJ USA, Inc. for $12,674.49, leak location services from M.E. Simpson Co., Inc. for $14,100.00, and an annual service agreement with Corrpro Companies for water storage tank inspections ($5,250.00).
Council also approved professional engineering payment to Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. for ground storage tank rendering ($12,305.25) and authorized the 2026 Sewer Rehabilitation Design & Construction Engineering Services with RJN Group not to exceed $82,120.00. Alderman Dan Brennan moved the RFP authorization for design engineering and construction inspection services for the 80th Avenue Hospital Pump Station upgrade; the minutes note he thanked Congressman Casten for securing a grant to fund the project.
