Palos Heights council approves financial reports, infrastructure contracts and fiber license

The Palos Heights City Council met March 3 and approved a package of routine and project-specific items, including the Treasurer's Report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2025, several infrastructure contracts and a rights-of-way license for Clearwave Fiber.
City Treasurer Jim Daemicke presented the December financial summary: the General Fund began December with $4,448,923, reported $1,723,397 in revenue and $4,015,491 in expenses, leaving an ending cash balance of $2,529,155. The council approved the Treasurer's Report on a 7-0 roll call vote. "With seven (7) affirmative votes the motion carried," the minutes record.
Council members also adopted an ordinance to raise the application, investigation and processing fee in Section 114.20 of the municipal code from $100 to $500 and approved project-related payments and contracts for parks, tree work, water system repairs and sewer design. The body authorized the mayor to execute a Master License Agreement between Delta Communications LLC, doing business as Clearwave Fiber, and the city to use municipal rights-of-way.
Most votes were unanimous. The meeting concluded with a recognition of Ron Jankowski for 25 years of service to PHTV 4 and adjournment at 7:24 p.m.
