Coffee County mayor highlights three new county facilities, subdivision approvals and opportunity zones

Mayor Dennis Hunt, chair of the Joint Economic and Community Development Board and mayor of Coffee County, reported that the county has three new facilities: the Coffee County Health Department, a TCAT facility and an Animal Control building. "Three brand new structures are new to Coffee County: Coffee Co Health Dept, TCAT Facility, and Animal Control building," he said, and encouraged board members to visit the sites.
Hunt also described recent zoning shifts that have pushed development toward urban growth boundaries, and said the county has approved about 20 minor subdivision requests. He noted that Coffee County has three identified opportunity zones but emphasized none are in the City of Manchester. The remarks accompanied routine budget passage for the county.
