Assistant City Manager and Community Development Director Glen Cole provided updates and upcoming items for the Commission. He said staff expect a meeting in May that could include a special-use permit for a drive-through tenant, and he noted that Planner Robert Savage "was featured on the cover of the American Planning Association’s Planning Magazine, featuring the City’s new EV regulations." The City was also nominated for a Climate Action Hero Award for its sustainability initiatives.
Commissioner Ferstein urged staff to consider enabling ADU regulations in a future PZC meeting to proactively address housing pressures; ACM/DCD Cole said staff will present options for ADU regulations at the May meeting. The Commission also discussed the possibility of appointing a new Commissioner to fill a vacancy in the coming months.
