Commission approves plat consolidation to enable bakery/café redevelopment at former Fire House site

Ellena said the site is in the Town Center (TC) zoning district, which allows up to 70 feet of building height and has no parking minimums; the proposed project, called "Abide," would refurbish the existing two-story structure to house a bakery and café with second-story coworking and office space.
Staff requested waiver of public improvements (sidewalks and easements) at the plat stage because the pending redevelopment will likely provide those improvements, and staff confirmed there are no historic-designation constraints on the property. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the concurrent preliminary and final plat consolidation, with motion by Commissioner Gercken and second by Commissioner Roos (6–0).
