Village says it met EPA deadline and will pursue replacement of about 50 lead service lines

Village staff told the board they received a letter from the EPA requiring a lead-service-line replacement program and that the village has put a program in place by the stated deadline. President Frank Ottenheim said the village has identified approximately 50 lines that need replacement and has engaged its new engineers to prepare a plan.
"We got a letter from the EPA telling us we had to have a replacement program in place by yesterday," Ottenheim said, adding that the plan is a work in progress and staff will report more information next month about funding and schedule.
