"I would like to have, Peter Mesmer...interview those people, and then give him permission to pick the best person of those 5 and be able to hire them and not wait for another meeting," S1 said.
Some board members suggested involving the personnel committee to broaden the interview panel; the board compromised by amending the resolution, approving the untable motion and confirming that the pay rate will be determined at hire and aligned with the town’s pay scale or prior employee status. The board also noted the union discussion that could affect transfer and pay policies.
