A staff member told commissioners the department currently is “5 staff short and, we’re doing our best to try to get those positions filled,” highlighting vacancies including an inventory clerk, an electric SCADA technician, a substation/power-plant manager, two main maintenance personnel and a water-treatment-plant operator. Commissioners asked clarifying questions and received a schedule of upcoming agenda items, including a September presentation on Phase 2 of the wastewater expansion.
