Highway superintendent reports truck maintenance, new plow arrival and grant plans

Highway Superintendent Wyatt Boswell told the board on March 11 that the town is completing maintenance on its trucks and preparing for the delivery of an International CV plow truck. Boswell said the plow truck is finished at MDI and is receiving final touches at Allegiance; paperwork has been submitted to the DMV and insurance records updated for the vehicle.
Boswell also said employee Evan passed his final sewer test and now needs to complete a state exam to obtain a sewer plant operator license. Boswell reported he attended Advocacy Day in Albany to request additional CHIPS funding and that the highway department is looking into a grant application for a 72-by-100-foot salt storage shed with a 34-foot peak to improve winter operations.
