At the public‑comment portion of the meeting, a resident (Speaker 11) described heavy traffic, repeated large events and a recent film production at Foxfire that she said have eroded a 1.5‑lane dead‑end road and increased flooding risk to her property. She asked the town to locate the original 2015 special permit — which she said the town does not possess — and to consider reopening or reviewing conditions attached to the venue's permit. "I feel like the town has a responsibility if you give a special permit to a commercial venue in a residential neighborhood, and you don't put any conditions on that venue," the resident said, urging the board to seek tolerable solutions rather than shut down the business.
The commenter asked the planning board and town to inquire how many events Foxfire is holding, including weddings, film shoots and new event series, and to consider traffic mitigation such as a mobile radar sign with a vehicle counter. Board members agreed to follow up with county partners on a radar sign loan and to have the planning board and town lawyer review the permit record and enforcement options. The board noted the original public hearing is recorded online and said it will revisit the application record and consult its attorney and planning staff.
