Suzanne Marr described a rain-garden installation training she attended at the Musconetcong Watershed Association and proposed investigating rain-garden projects in the low-lying section between Memorial School and Taylor Street. She said that older drainage infrastructure in that zone struggles with stormwater runoff and that municipal grant money may be available to help private homeowners install rain gardens.
Marr indicated she had contacted Brian Bond and suggested Rutgers Cooperative Extension’s Chris Obropta as a technical resource for project design and site selection. The team agreed to explore grant opportunities and plans for homeowner outreach if a viable municipal program is identified.
