Board hears employer survey and recruitment updates; members urged to sign up for Feb. 26 career fair

Amanda Blaschko reported results from an employer experience survey and said the regional job market is showing signs of slowing.
"Job market is slowing down right now. 3.8% lowest in the state, but is higher than we would want it. It was 3% in November," Blaschko said, summarizing the survey and local labor statistics. Members were encouraged to recruit employers and students for the Career, College and Job Fair scheduled for Feb. 26, 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m. at Winona Area Public School.
Chris Dembiec said the region will move everyone to a new job posting site in June under the 'Drive for 5' initiative and offered assistance to members needing help with setup. Kevin Cardille described MAWB's coordination with DEED on legislative lobbying for funding and said $625 is available to market a MAWB toolkit for local boards.
Board members were urged to sign up for the career fair and to support employer participation; no formal motions or funding decisions were recorded at the meeting.
