In staff reports, Jeff told councilors the city received an 8 out of 16 score on its small-city allotment grant application and noted only the top four scored applications were funded. He said the ODOT Safe Routes to Schools grant is expected to return early next year and recommended obligating crosswalk signs and delaying sidewalk work for roughly a year to improve the city's chance of success: “we got our scoring back on our our small city allotment grant, and, we scored 8 out of 16, but they only took the top 4.”
Stacy reported that the emergency evacuation brochure and the citizen emergency guide FAQs are complete and will go to print once confirmed; she also said the city audit fieldwork is scheduled for Aug. 24–28 and she will be in the Jacksonville office that week. Councilors acknowledged the update and thanked staff for the materials and scheduling clarity.
