Minnesota State College Southeast reports $47,000 in scholarships and a $75,000 grant partnership with Winona CareerForce

Jake Griggs, reporting for Minnesota State College Southeast, told the Workforce Development Board that the school's foundation awarded 81 scholarships for Spring 2026 totaling more than $47,000.
"Eighty-one scholarships were awarded by our foundation to students for Spring 2026, totaling more than $47,000!" Griggs said, thanking donors and noting this financial support helps students stay enrolled. Griggs added that spring enrollment is even year-over-year after several years of growth and noted commencement will take place on Friday, May 15.
Griggs also said Winona CareerForce was recently awarded an Adult Support Services grant and that Southeast will serve as the training provider. "The total budget awarded was $75,000, with Southeast as the training provider," he said. The grant-funded trainings will focus on soft skills, professionalism, budgeting and basic computer skills, and the curriculum will be developed with input from local employers.
The board received the information as part of the colleges' regular report; no additional funding requests from the board were recorded in the meeting minutes.
