Jake Griggs reported that spring registration at Minnesota State College Southeast was down roughly 3.5% year-over-year and reminded the board that classes begin Jan. 12. He said the college’s Auto Body Collision Technology program received final approval from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), preserving Master Accreditation for five years, and that the program received a $5,000 grant from the Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF).
Griggs also announced the college will welcome Steven McNaughton as vice president of strategic initiatives on Jan. 21; McNaughton will work on institutional advancement, apprenticeships and workforce education. The transcript also noted an open search for a faculty member to replace retiring instructor Marc Kalis in Electronics Technology and Biomedical Equipment Technology.
