Chamber reports positive jubilee turnout; seeks volunteers for Cycle Oregon and other events

Don Litchfield of the Jacksonville Chamber addressed the council during public comment to report on a recent jubilee and upcoming community activities. “My father Christmas showed up in style and rode the trolley,” Litchfield said as he described strong family attendance, booths by Firewise and other nonprofits, and positive vendor response.
Litchfield told the council sponsorships covered about half of the jubilee cost and said vendor fee waivers would have totaled $260. He also asked for volunteer support for Cycle Oregon — a multi-day visit starting Aug. 31 — and promoted Rogue Flavors (a USDA grant-supported event Sept. 5) and a chamber mixer on Aug. 19. The council thanked the chamber and invited residents to participate.
