The council voted to approve the bills list for Aug. 4 after councilors raised questions about a few line items. Councilor Greg asked whether an $8,017.69 payment to Bradley's Excavation was for a particularly large ditch clean-out; staff described ongoing efforts to 'armor' steep ditches and confirmed the payment covered that work.
Councilor Thompson asked about a payment for street-sweeper maintenance that appears to have been invoiced by the city of Medford; staff clarified the charge covered mechanic tune-ups on the sweeper rather than contracted sweeping services. Councilor Reid also questioned a police-protection line showing a higher cost for an older Ford Explorer; staff and councilors discussed that the vehicle appeared to be fully outfitted, including lift and tires, which explained the higher cost. After the clarifications the council proceeded with a roll-call approval of the bills list.
