Board President Randy Hawkins called the special meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Winona Administration Building. Mark Wintters made the motion to hire Cowart, which Aaron Wilson seconded; the board’s vote in favor was unanimous among trustees present. The board then voted, again unanimously, to offer a three-year contract to Cowart totaling $117,000 after Aaron Wilson moved to carry and Mark Wintters seconded.
The board also granted the superintendent authority to hire certified personnel from now through Monday, August 18, 2025, a measure the trustees approved unanimously after a motion from Aaron Wilson and a second from Connie Gibbs. Scott Jones was recorded as absent from the meeting.
The special-called meeting began at 6:00 p.m. with a prayer and the pledges and adjourned at 6:06 p.m. The minutes for the meeting were later approved on June 23, 2025.
